It's quite hard to imagine how a community that first started on the Facebook platform has now gone on to be globally recognised and readying to release its third collaboration with New Balance, but here we are. This December, The Basement and New Balance have linked up once again to provide us with yet another rendition of their 2002R series, and this might just be the best one yet.
After releasing its drab-hued "Moss Green" and "Earth Brown" colourways earlier this year, this latest model instead chooses to opt for a neutral colourway comprised of white, grey and black tones. Keeping with the previous design choice, a heavy suede upper sits atop a robust black sole, with the same colours extending to the toe cap and heel guard.
Decked across the lateral sides of the "Stone Grey," we find New Balance's signature "N" logo, this time with The Basement's "9 Bar" graphic infused, offering subtle design elements. In addition, doses of 3M are seen across the shoe's upper, ready to light up the 200R branding by nightfall. For those looking to get their hands on The Basement x New Balance 2002R "Stone Grey," it will launch on December 4th directly from The Basement webstore. Given how fast the previous additions sold out, you won't want to wait around on these. In other footwear news, Shannon Abloh reveals there's still a year's worth of Off-White x Nike releases to come.
