The sneaker of the moment, New Balance's 2002R has definitely taken off in style. The former Protection Packs have taken on very neutral colourways, such as "Mirage Grey", and an easy-to-wear "Navy" colourway. However, the third in this particular line-up took on a vibrant orange hue that is reminiscent of the Salehe Bembury collaborative pair from October 2020. All were insanely popular, but they've got nothing on this beautiful "Pink" iteration.
You'd be forgiven for thinking the New Balance 2002R Protection Pack "Pink" looks like a custom design. Constructed with the rugged, DIY look that has made the "Protection Pack" famous, but beautified with feminine tones that are bound to be a hit with the guys and girls alike, you're definitely going to need to enter all the raffles if you want to get your hands on a pair of these.
Premium materials, such as mesh, leather and suede, make for a luxurious sneaker that guarantees durability, and the promise that the sneaker will deliver in comfort. Reflective details add a little extra spice to the design, whilst ABZORB cushioning in the midsole and an N-ERGY outsole bring that famous bounce that we expect from the Boston-based brand.
The pair will also be dropping in "Purple". This pair also sport a vintage-toned midsole and lace unit, giving the 'wearable relic' vibe that designer Yue Wu wanted.
