It’s #bootsonlysummer and Nike definitely got the memo. After reviving and reimagining the iconic Total 90 boots as a lifestyle shoe, the Swoosh brand are now turning their attention to bringing back the iconic kits of the 2000s. Following on from the revival of the 1999 USMNT track jacket and the 2004 Netherland jersey made famous by Ruud van Nistelrooy, it seems like Ronaldinho’s Brazil is next in their sights.
Originally worn by the Seleção during their 2004 Copa América-winning run, this kit became synonymous with legends like Ronaldinho, Adriano and a young Robinho. Now, two decades on, Nike are treating us to a reissue of this iconic home kit.
Nike’s been deep in their retro bag lately, and the return of the 2004 Brazil kit only adds fuel to the fire. From the bold curves to the hybrid material use, the Total 90 line was ahead of its time and these reissues prove it still holds up today.
Dropping this week, Nike are releasing two versions of the home jersey, one plain and one featuring the iconic number 10 with Ronaldinho on the back, both of which are packed full of nostalgic details. Alongside this however Nike are also dropping a complimentary tracksuit in a sleek dark grey with signature T90 vintage detailing.
You’ll need about £270 for the full tracksuit and shirt fit, and while it won’t give you R10’s tekkers, it’ll definitely boost your tunnel walk.
More than just a kit, this is a throwback to a golden era of Brazilian football and iconic Nike design. Whether you’re adding to your collection or looking for that one standout piece for the summer, this is your sign to get involved.
