As part Nike’s ongoing Move to Zero campaign (a project designated to reduce waste in the sneaker industry), the label now plans to offer a range of pre-owned sneakers available in all stores at a reduced price. The Swoosh already offers a 60-day returns policy, meaning that sneakers returned to store will now be refurbished by store staff before ending up back on the shelves at a reduced price.
Pairs that can’t be restored to a decent standard will instead be recycled into Nike Grind fabric that is then used to create brand-new products. As far as sustainable projects go, this is by far one of the best we’ve seen in the industry so far.
The pre-owned sneakers will be split into three different grades; “like new”, “gently worn” and “cosmetically flawed”. All pairs will be sold in specifically-branded Move to Zero boxes as opposed to their original retail boxes, which may cause some controversy amongst those of us who love to keep the OG box.
Here at The Sole Supplier we’re seeing this as the perfect chance to get your hands on a fresh pair of nearly-new kicks at a well-below retail price, which definitely can’t be a bad thing! Make sure to keep it locked in right here for all the latest news and updates in the sneaker world and while you’re here check out these incredible bargains from Nike’s current promo code!
