In a shocking turn of events that unravelled yesterday, Nike’s Vice President and North American General Manager Ann Hebert has resigned from her role after family ties with a prolific sneaker reseller were exposed. Her 19-year-old son Joe Hebert (also known as @west.coast.streetwear on Instagram) spoke out about his resell business during a recent interview with Bloomberg earlier this week, drawing further attention to his mother’s role at Nike.
Following the interview, Ann Hebert decided to step down from her role at the Swoosh brand with immediate effect, as announced by a letter that was sent out to Nike employees. The brand forbids reselling in company policy, although it also insists that it had been aware of Joe’s business since 2018 and stated it did not violate any company policy.

There’s a lot to take in here and plenty of other shocking details regarding the story, with several sources reporting that Joe racked up around $132,000 in credit card bills (using a card held under his mother’s name) for just one sneaker release, with all pairs later being resold for a profit. Remember that time a sneaker reseller claimed he found six pairs of Nike MAGs in a storage unit? Funnily enough, that reseller was also Joe Hebert.
As of yet there have been no further updates to the story, but rest assured if anything changes we’ll be the first to let you know.
