While Dunks and Jordans might currently be all the rage, it’s hard to ignore the vast history and cultural relevance held by Nike’s Air Max range. Ever since Tinker Hatfield created the Air Max 1 back in 1987 the range has acted as a mainstay throughout the Swoosh’s ever-changing roster, and that’s thanks to great designs and groundbreaking technology. Favoured by old-school sneakerheads and style aficionados, the range consists of countless silhouettes and all manners of different variations.
While the Air Max family has always been well-loved, great colourways can be few and far between, leaving die-hard fans disappointed until the rare gem appears in the wild. However as it stands, Nike’s website currently has some of the hottest Air Max sneakers we’ve seen in months loaded up, so it’s well worth checking out the entire selection for yourself. If that wasn’t enough, we’ve hand-curated three of our favourites for you to take a look at right here.
Kicking things off we have an ultra-clean rendition of Sergio Lozano’s famous AM95 design. Decked out in hits of blue, black and off-white, this is without a doubt one of the stronger colourways for the previous few months. Low-key double Swoosh branding is placed on the rear collar, and pinwheel branding also makes an appearance across the design. Finished with a blacked-out midsole unit in true AM95 style, these are definitely on our cop-list.
Another TSS house-favourite, the Air Max 97 is undoubtedly one of the most timeless sneaker designs of all time, and what better way to help the model celebrate its 25th anniversary than to deck it out in a crisp white look. Grey Swoosh details and reflective 3M piping really up the ante with this pair, so if you’ve been waiting for the perfect “Silver Bullet” dupe then this might be as close as you’re getting!
Last but by absolutely no means least, the Nike Air Max Terrascape 90 makes an appearance on our list. While this alteration of the standard AM90 is relatively new on the scene, the silhouette has been incredibly well-received amongst sneakerheads, with this latest ACG-inspired colourway easily the best we’ve seen yet. Soft pink and vibrant green details accentuate the otherwise earthy-tones, and a semi-translucent midsole unit seals the deal here, making these a definite future classic.
