Nike is taking advantage of people's love for a see-through shoe with the upcoming release of the Air Max 95 Half Blue/Summit White in a women's exclusive. Transforming the classic AM95 upper into something a little more transparent, this is an exciting release from Nike.
Hot off the heels of the celebrated Nike React Element 87 and the Nike Zoom Fly SP models that came out last year in a range of semi-see-through uppers, this exclusive women's release is sure to be a hit.
So how do they work? Instead of the usual wavy line layering we'd see on a 95, the Half Blue has an upper formed from a layer of translucent overlays in a cool ice blue hue. These contrast nicely with the bright orange stitching on the sidewalls, which take the shape of the waves we know and love of the Air Max 95. Cool blue laces snake up the top side of the shoe through the 95's distinctive lacing system, while Air Max branding is embroidered at the top of the tongue and embossed on the heel counter.
The orange mini Swoosh near the heel on the outer sidewall looks like it's behind a sheet of ice, which only helps to up the icy winter feels we're getting from this silhouette. Underfoot, there's the standard chunky white midsole, complete with clear Air Max 95 bubble units in the heel and forefoot.
We'd style them by pairing with other cool hues to amp up the heat of your fit. If these aren't quite your thing, check out our top 10 picks of other icy grey kicks that will be great for the winter.
This silhouette is something really special. With it being a women's-only release, we don't expect them to stay available for long. Buy them now from Nike.
