Oasis and adidas SPZL Unite for Exclusive Sneaker Drop!

Hold onto your bucket hats, sneakerheads! We have some massive news to drop, directly from the source. The Oasis reunion tour is now in full swing, and it's grabbing attention for more than just the music. The Gallagher brothers are about to unleash not one, but four exclusive adidas Spezial pairs, cementing the deep rooted connection with the Three Stripes.

The association between Oasis and adidas runs deep. Fans will remember the highly sought after Oasis x adidas clothing capsule, which sold out in record time. Both Liam and Noel have also previously launched special adidas footwear; Noel's first release came in 2011, with Liam's following in 2019, both under the esteemed SPZL banner.

It's no secret that the Gallagher brothers hold a special place for the SPZL line. Noel even famously lent a pair of his vintage adidas to Gary Aspden, the curator of adidas SPZL, influencing past collections. Liam, a dedicated advocate for the brand, performed a gig in Hackney in 2019 in partnership with adidas Spezial. With the shared passion for vintage adidas, it's only right that these upcoming releases draw inspiration from classic styles.

For the first time ever, the classic adidas Achille gets a reissue under the SPZL branch with the LG Achille SPZL. Originally launched in 1977, with follow ups in the late 90s, the Achille is a model that many collectors have eagerly awaited. This special edition, a collaboration between Gary Aspden and Liam Gallagher, is a fitting tribute to the iconic band's reunion.

The Liam Gallagher x adidas Spezial Achille LG "Stone Khaki" will reimagine the brand’s vintage running shoe with premium details, crafting a style perfect for any concert. This limited edition pair is expected to feature a predominantly neutral upper, constructed with the high quality fabrics and materials we've come to expect from Gary Aspden's curations. The classic Three Stripes will feature prominently on the sides, working with the special LG and Mod Trefoil logos on the tongue, sockliner, and heel to highlight Liam's devotion to adidas. A slim EVA foam midsole will give you all day comfort, while a thin rubber sole will offer a stable, ‘low to the ground’ feel. Expect this pair in a custom shoebox with additional laces, reflecting Liam's design ethos.

Summing up Aspden's thoughts on the process - Liam wanted to reimagine the vintage adidas Achille for the SPZL range, drawing on archival pairs rather than early-2000s reissues. With no suitable outsole moulds available, new ones were created to match the original’s wraparound design. Using 3D scans and tech drawings, the team refined the upper and materials, ultimately choosing a chocolate brown colourway, extra tongue perforations, and Liam’s portrait for a distinctive finishing touch.

Also launching in August is the NG Marathon SPZL, building on the success of the Marathon 86 SPZL "Shock Slime" that came out in 2021. This time, the adidas Spezial Marathon Noel Gallagher "Night Navy" will offer a more muted approach with its navy colourway. This limited edition trainer, part of Gary Aspden's latest SPZL curation, aligns perfectly with the group's retro style code, released as the Oasis Live '25 Tour ignites nostalgia.

Originally designed for long distance running, this old school trainer will boast a navy blue upper, ensuring a lightweight and breathable experience. Expect to see co branded SPZL and Noel Gallagher labels, celebrating this milestone, complementing the traditional Three Stripes on the sidewalls and Mod Trefoil logos on the tongue and insole. Just like the LG Achilles SPZL, there will be an EVA foam midsole, providing supportive cushioning, reinforced by a durable rubber sole for superb traction. This Marathon shoe will also come with exclusive packaging and additional lacing options.

Summing up Aspden's thoughts on the process - Noel, a long-time fan of the Marathon 85, collaborated with SPZL to create a fully revised take on the silhouette. Changes included a reshaped upper, classic ‘T’ toe overlay, adjusted midsole depth, and removal of the heel scoop. A deep navy suede, tonal eyelet covers, and an ecotex ‘dimple’ tongue featuring Noel’s portrait completed the look, packaged in a blue box with vintage-style signature athlete graphics.

These highly anticipated releases will be available for raffle sign-ups via the adidas CONFIRMED on the 13th of August, with the raffle closing on the 16th.
