Before his untimely passing, Virgil Abloh reached out to legendary skateboarder and footwear designer Sal Barbier with the purpose of creating a capsule collection with the 1980s skate scene embedded in its very core. Now, some months on, Off-White and Sal Barbier are ready to release this latest selection in all its retro glory.
With a joint mission to “take the best of the 1980s skate scene, improve it and make it relevant in the now,” Off-White and Barbier have produced a scope of garments consisting of hoodies, sweatshirts, T-Shirts and light wash denim jackets. Alongside Virgil's famed Arrows logo, we now see a menacing rendition of a rattlesnake alongside a multicoloured striped pattern.
In addition to the clothing, we also see accessories arrive in the form of a baseball cap and a pair of black and white sneakers. The sneakers sport a leather and PVC construction atop a rubber sole, with the same rattlesnake logo featured on the rear of the heel.
For those looking to get their hands on this Off-White x Sal Barbier collection, it is currently available for purchase on the brand's website. In other fashion news, Supreme x Yohji Yamamoto drop a 'Tekken' collaboration for FW22.
