One of the buzziest menswear brands right now, Swedish label OUR LEGACY has announced a new partnership with Dr. Martens, under its OUR LEGACY WORK SHOP initiative. Set to rework Dr. Marten’s iconic 1461 silhouette, the collaborative collection will be made with deadstock fabrics from Dr. Martens Wollaston factory, and will of course be expertly made in Northamptonshire.
Thanks to the WORK SHOP initiative set up by OUR LEGACY in 2016, the collection sees DM’s classic 1461 shoe get a sustainable yet minimalist upgrade. Working with Dr. Marten’s iconic Northamptonshire factory, the forthcoming pairs have been built from leather offcuts from world-renowned tanneries, Horween and C.F. Stead.
The first shoe in the collection sees Horween’s heavyweight Chromexel leather form the upper, resulting in a stunning, smart black shoe that’ll no doubt last for years. Premium detailing comes in the form of waxed black laces and a plain black welt, while embossed OUR LEGACY and WORK SHOP branding lands on the heel and tongue respectively. This sits atop the traditional DMS sole and comes finished with a gold-scripted heel loop.
The second pair arrives in a brighter hue: a soft suede in the shade “Red Alert” by Leeds-based tannery C.F. Stead. It features the same embossed branding, only this time it gets treated to tonal laces and a trans-DMS sole and is finished by a gold heel tab and black welt.
The collection is set to land on the 17th of November at Dr. Martens and OUR LEGACY, so be sure to head over to either retailer early that day for your best chance of copping.
Up next, Palace and Umbro have reunited ready for the World Cup.
