Over 5 Million Sneakerheads Tried to Cop the Dior x Air Jordan 1s

Now that the Dior x Air Jordan 1 High and the Dior x Air Jordan 1 Low have finally dropped, WWD has now unveiled a bunch of statistics surrounding the highly coveted release. Regarded by many as the most hyped collaboration of our generation, only 8,000 pairs were made available to the public, and according to new reports, more than five million people entered the raffle.

First unveiled back in December during the French luxury fashion house's pre-Fall 2020 show in Miami, the Dior AJ1 has been on everyone's lips for the past six months. From serious sneakerheads to mainstream media, everyone wanted a pair for their collections. With its premium Italian leather construction to its lacy Nike Swoosh, every single aspect of this shoe was designed meticulously and executed impeccably.

Pietro Beccari, President and Chief Executive Officer of Christian Dior Couture, told WWD that the selection process was completed in nine hours, with all winners notified on July 2nd. With that said, he also admitted that while 8,000 pairs were made for the public, 5,000 extra pairs were produced for the label's top clients.
