If you spent any time on social media last Friday, you’ll have seen that adidas finally unveiled their upcoming collaboration with Gucci at the fashion house’s “Exquisite Gucci” show at Milan Fashion Week. Following a cryptic tweet that hinted that the collab could be coming soon, models took to the runway decked out in suits, dresses, headwear, and knits that bore branding from the luxury brand and the German sportswear giant. Now, the accompanying footwear seems to have finally surfaced on social media, and the collection includes a number of adidas Gazelles that celebrate both brands.
Thanks to early images by insider @outpumpsneakers, we’re finally able to get a closer look at exactly what the pair have planned, and it’s clear that much like the recent Prada collaboration, the brands have chosen to focus their attention on a classic silhouette. Arguably one of adidas’ most famous styles, these Gazelles, along with the rest of the collection achieve the collaboration's aim of mixing sportswear elements with Gucci’s signature codes.
The pairs come in a number of colourways, from Gucci’s G monogram, to bright pink suede, to a particularly loud snakeskin style that seems very in line with Alessandro’s vision. Other pairs appear more toned down – one arrives in a crisp white leather and boasts red and green stripe detailing, another in a full forest-green and white makeup, whilst another is decked out in yellow suede with tan overlays and a pop of green at the heel. Each pair comes with a tan midsole that comes decorated with Gucci’s wordmark logo, as well as the adidas Trefoil on the side.
Not much else is known about the collaboration right now, and there are even reports that potential buyers may even be able to create their own colourways, with the pairs above just serving as inspiration. Whilst we wait for more details to come to light, be sure to keep it locked, as we’ll be the first to let you know as soon as we hear more!
Up next, peep a first look at some of the clothing from the collection.
