Recap The Sneaker Releases Of 2019 With Female Sneakerhead @Palinaroza

As it's coming to the end of the year we decided to take a look back at what a crazy year it's been for sneaker releases! From new silhouettes to statement colourways, 2019 has been a great year for sneakerheads. We got in touch with some of the most influential female sneakerheads in the scene to get the low down on their most loved pair of kicks, most overrated and much more.

Paulina, or as many of you may know her on Instagram as @palinaroza, doesn't shy away from colour, using vibrant colourways to brighten up her looks while having a collection to die for! What has been your favourite sneaker release of the year?

The Melody Ehsani x Jordan 1 is my favourite release of the year I guess. They just released a few weeks ago, but I really love the concept of the design. The colourway is so colourful and the right shoe has different colours than the left shoe. I just love that! My pair is currently on the way to me (from the US). Another favourite pair is the Nike Air Max 97 London Summer of Love. I loved the concept that different people of different cities in the world were able to design a sneaker for their city. The London summer of love is so colourful and pretty.

Do you think the female sneaker culture has changed at all this year?

Definitely! We saw some really good collaborations between Nike and strong women like Aleali May and Melody Ehsani.

What has been your favourite collaboration from 2019 and why?

This year the Off-White x Nike collab was really good again like last year. Also the collab between Sacai x Nike was so special and amazing. The designs are very unique.

If you could only wear one pair of sneakers for the next 5 years, what would it be and why? (Shoe style and or specific colourway as well!)

This question is really hard because my favourite pairs are always switching. But it would be definitely an Air Force 1. Maybe the Easter Colorway, because I love the pastel tones.

Are there any sneakers you'd love to see hitting the stores in 2020?

I would love to see new colourways of the Sacai x Nike Waffle. I love the design and the different colours on this silhouette.

What's the one pair of sneakers you always wanted but have never secured?

There are way too many. I have a list in my head of sneakers that I want to buy one day. But my first thought was the Air Max 97/1 Sean Wotherspoon. I love the silhouette and design of the shoe and also love the colourway. Unfortunately, I didn't get them in retail and don't want to pay the high resell prices.

Most overrated sneaker of the year?

I really don't like the design of the Travis x Nike Air Jordan 1 Low.

What is a pair of sneakers you think everyone needs in their rotation?

My personal Must-Have is probably the Nike Air Force 1 All-White. Everyone needs them in their rotation because they go with everything and are classics.
