In the past 12 months, the line between fitness and fashion has grown increasingly blurred. While the Gorpcore trend laid the foundation for performance-focused garments, the recent renewed interest in fitness, particularly running, has been the driving force behind this shift in styles. A record number of people signed up to run the London Marathon this year, and new run clubs are popping up every week.
At the heart of this functional-fashion shift is Represent. Tapping into the culture and communities surrounding fitness, the brand has truly become synonymous with this new wave of athleisure. Represent 247, the performance arm of Represent, has become one of Britain’s fastest growing fashion brands and it looks like they're set to take things to the next level with the release of their first-ever performance focused sneakers. Set to drop later tonight, get a closer look at the upcoming styles below.
For comfort at every distance.
The ARC-1 Runner brings Represent 247’s drive for performance to a running shoe and embodies the brand’s attention to detail and craftsmanship. Featuring a lightweight mesh upper, responsive EVA midsole and supportive heel counter, the ARC-1 runner was designed with 5-10K runners in mind.
Digging into the details, the shoe boasts a 7mm heel-toe drop, offering a balance between cushioning and ground feel. Weighing in at just 325g per shoe, it is also incredibly lightweight.
Price: £185 | Sizes: Full men's and women's size run
For the hybrid athlete.
Dropping alongside the ARC-1, the ARC-2 Trainer emphasises hybrid training. Balancing stability, comfort, and performance, the ARC-2 is a great choice for athletes interested in CrossFit or Hyrox. A flat rubber outsole helps provide maximum power output and stability when weightlifting, while featuring a hidden detail paying homage to Rivington Pike. This outsole is then paired with TPU reinforcements that provide support in lateral movements, meaning it can easily handle any quick turns or change of pace.
Built with functionality and versatility in mind, the ARC-2 Trainer was designed to be your go-to hybrid training sneaker.
Price: £155 | Sizes: Full men's and women's size run
These two sneakers will also drop alongside a 12 piece apparel collection featuring everything you need for a new January gym outfit. Set to drop tonight, 22nd January, at 8pm GMT, head over to the Represent website for the best chance to cop!
