Romantic Hues Take Over The Cortez For Chinese Valentine's Day

In celebration of Chinese Valentine's Day, Nike has created an adorable Classic Cortez Nylon duo to represent the Qixi Festival.

Decorated with a galaxy inspired upper, these sneakers mirror the romantic Chinese myth of the weaver girl and the cowherd who literally became star-crossed lovers when they were separated to opposite sides of the Milky Way.

The pair are said to reunite once a year for Qixi.

Inspired by this beautiful story, Nike's upcoming Cortez release features two pairs of matching ombré effect sneakers arriving in dusk-toned blue and dawn-coloured orange and pink.

Adorned with imagery of the stars, these unique runners include glow-in-the-dark prints of constellations Vega and Altai which appear at the heel, and a bold "Today Is The Day"; slogan which can be found on the tongue and outsoles.

The Nike Cortez "QIXI"; pack is expected to launch on August 17th in a Chinese exclusive release.
