One of our favourite times of the year here at The Sole Supplier, we can't wait for Halloween to arrive. Pumpkin picking, horror films and costume parties are all on the agenda, but what's happening in the world of sneakers? As usual, the Swoosh Brand have unveiled a whole load of spooky sneaks to make the season as scary as possible. From Dunks to Air Force 1s, they've gone with everyone's favourite silhouettes (and a few surprises!) to really make your Hallows-Eve sneaker game the best it can be. So, grab a toffee apple, and take a look at what there is to look forward to this freaky szn.
It's not yet known when all of these sneakers are going to be releasing, but expect them in the coming weeks before October 31st hits.
First up, we have the Nike Dunk Low "Halloween". Thanks to sneaker insider, @yankeekicks, we were able to catch a glimpse of these before the official images, and were blown away from the fluorescent, glow-in-the-dark outsole and detailing across the upper. Now officially confirmed for this holiday, the Halloween Dunk will be coming in a "Sail", "Starfish" and "Black" colourway, and with the addition of the scary-looking eyes across the body, this pair are certainly equipped for freaking out your pals this fall. They are said to be releasing in both adults' and kids' sizes, so stay locked in if you want to match with your mini-me.
Everyone loved the 2019 SB Dunk "Night of Mischief", so following on for 2021 is the Nike SB Dunk Low “Mummy”, another glow-in-the-dark iteration that's all wrapped up in bandages, inspired by Egyptian mummies. The canvas upper takes a rustic approach in-keeping with the theme. We can see frayed edges, a spider embroidered onto the toe box, but most scarily, a pair of eyes on the heel of the sneakers, so wherever you go, you'll be watching...
The Swoosh comes in a grey suede material, whilst the branding label at the top of the tongue matches to the rubber outsole by glowing-in-the-dark. The eyes on the heel, arguably the main feature of the Dunk, also light up.
Well, Nike just can't get enough of the glow-in-the-dark, can they? It is Halloween after all. Next up is the Nike Air Force 1 "Halloween", again a "Sail", "Starfish" and "Black" iteration that is wearable by day, yet spooky by night. The all-black upper conceals the colour-changing detailing of the eyes, very similar to the Dunk Low seen previously. This pair of AF1s feature a spider-infested insole, too.
One of our favourites of the lot is the Nike Air Force 1 "Purple Skeleton". Following on from the previous iterations, including "Black" and "Orange", this purple is positively spooky! Similar to the others that have come before, this AF1 comes with a glow-in-the-dark midsole that appears in an off-white colouring in the daylight. The lace lock lights up to match. Across the sidewalls is the feature of a skeleton, whilst the insoles are dressed with an imprint of your feet, albeit in bones.
An update on Bruce Kilgore's '82 classic, the Nike Air Force 1 Experimental has seen its fair share of outrageous colourways. We have to admit, the silhouette rather suits being given a spooky makeover. This time, the Oregon-based brand have gone full-on with the glowing details, with the whole of the upper giving off that garish green light when in the dark. Eyes of all different shapes and sizes feature on this wrapped-up AF-1, as well as spiders and what could arguably be splatters of blood.
Again, the orange accents add a hint of Jack-o'-lantern to the sneaker, whilst the midsole comes in a milky colouring to aid the glow-in-the-dark effect.
It's a big year for the Air Presto; it's its 21st birthday! Coming out as part of Nike's Spooky Series for 2021, the Presto is making a name for itself as more than just running shoe. Unlike the other pairs in the pack, the Air Presto doesn't feature any glow-in-the-dark accents, but still has the eyes seen on the AF1 and the Dunk Low on the cage overlay. A spider is embroidered onto the mesh toe box, whilst pumpkin-spiced accents brighten up this otherwise monochrome sneaker.
