After more than a decade of partnership with PUMA, the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula 1 team has made waves in the motorsports sponsorship world by announcing a new collaboration with adidas.
This move adds a new chapter to the long standing rivalry between the German sportswear giants, a competition dating back to the split of the Dassler brothers in 1948. With this deal, adidas will now outfit the team’s drivers, mechanics, engineers, and, most excitingly for fans, create exclusive merchandise.
One of the first pieces to emerge from this collaboration is the Mercedes adidas Superstar, set to launch ahead of the Miami Grand Prix in May 2025.
The design features a bold hot pink colourway, accented by striking black details on the iconic three stripes, heel tab, and tongue. While the colour choice doesn’t directly reference Mercedes’ livery or the Formula 1 logo, it appears to celebrate the vibrant spirit of the Miami Grand Prix, evoking the city’s South Beach aesthetic and nodding to "Miami Vice."
The standout elements of the sneaker include a chromatic, embossed Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS logo on the heel tab, complemented by a screen printed graphic on the tongue tag. These touches elevate the design, making it a must have for both sneaker enthusiasts and F1 fans alike.
The Mercedes x adidas Superstar will be available on adidas.com starting May 1, 2025. Stay tuned to The Sole Supplier for the latest updates and release details.
