After delivering its loud and proud SS23 collection, French streetwear heavyweight Drôle de Monsieur is now looking to expand on its collaborative efforts. Tapping none other than London-based artist and designer Gergei Erdei, the duo has delivered a fresh take on '90s leisurewear looks, with each bought to life through intricate patterns and prints.
For those unfamiliar with Gergei Erdei's works, he is the designer of his eponymous interior brand known for its distinctive pattern work. Having previously worked under Alessandro Michele at Gucci, Gergei brings his distinctive eye to a fresh array of silhouettes. Included, we see shirts, hoodies, tees, track jackets, shorts, trousers, scarves and more, each donning a print inspired by antique mosaics.
From a colour palette perspective, neutrals reign supreme. Off-white and beige hues are backed up by muted and drab shades of green and brown, delivering a retro, almost old-money aesthetic. Silk scarves and beach towels also work to capture the distinctive summer charm from an accessory point of view. For those looking to get their hands on the Drôle de Monsieur x Gergei Erdei collection, it is currently available on the brand's website and has started to land at other retailers like END. Clothing. In other fashion news, Awake NY Spring 2023 embodies Maytime in the city.
