The Ultimate Stone Island Size Guide

Since 1982, Italian luxury clothing experts Stone Island have made some of the finest menswear with a distinct innovative twist. From its early days with Massimo Osti at the helm to the recent Moncler ownership, Stone Island has and continues to make product with both quality and durability in mind.

While the brand seemingly conveys both iconic style and luxury, it's well worth noting Stone Island will fit very different to your standard Moncler or C.P. Company piece, so we thought we would give you a helping hand! Here at The Sole Supplier, we're huge fans of Stone Island so we've asked our dedicated team of menswear specialists for all their opinions, tricks and tips when it comes to buying and wearing the Italian brand. Stone Island utilise a wide mix of European sizings that are often cut to a slim fitted style. If slim fitted is more your thing we would recommend taking your usual size, however, if you're looking for a little bit of a more relaxed fit we would wholeheartedly recommend sizing up.

I don't mind a bit of a slim fit cut so I just take my usual size in Stone Island pieces. I have had pieces in the past that have fitted slightly different even though I've bought the same size though. If you're someone who wears slightly baggy or oversized I reckon you're better off sizing up when you're buying a hoodie or jumper.

Just like the sizing, the quality can also differ from piece to piece. Speaking honestly, I think that Stone Island's comfort is perfectly fine, but not exactly anything to shout home about!

I usually style my Stone Island Crewnecks & Hoodies with a pair of black jeans and a nice pair of Jordan 1s on the feet. I have been known to wear them alongside skinny jeans also though for a bit of more of a cleaner fit for a dinner or a few drinks at a bar!

My Stone Island overshirt fits a little bit smaller than what I usually wear so I bought the next size up. In my opinion, overshirts are one of those pieces that look better when they're a little bit oversized too so I'm glad I sized up.

Yeah it's comfortable enough, I layer with a T-Shirt underneath anyway. If it was just the overshirt by itself I don't think it would feel too nice though.

I usually wear my Stone Island Nylon Metal Overshirt when I'm down the footie with the lads! We all wear them together, it's almost like a uniform when we go out haha! I usually pair this with a pair of cargo pants and some kind of Nike Air Force 1 for a streetwear-inspired fit.

My David TC Stone Island Jacket fits surprisingly true to size. In the past, I've found the jacket sizes can differ quite a lot when it comes to Stone Island but in my experience, I usually take my regular size when it comes to the bigger, more padded coats.

The Stone Island David TC jacket is one of my favourite pieces in my wardrobe. If I could wear this jacket in the summer and not get heatstroke, I would. Seriously, the detachable down lining on the inside makes this one perfect for those cooler winter months.

As this is a winter jacket I usually wear it fully zipped on the upper with a long sleeve T-Shirt underneath. On the lower portion, I usually sport a pair of Shadow Project cargo pants as I really like the technical details and subtlety of the all-black badge. On the feet, I'll usually rock a pair of New Balance 990s for added comfort.

If you're looking to pick up some new Stone Island it's a good idea to pick your normal size if you don't mind a slimmer European fit, and if you don't it's recommended you size up. The reality is because of the brand's many innovative techniques production isn't always going to be the same which may lead to variations in both fit and size.
