Stone Island x New Balance Introduce the FuelCell_C1

Updated 19/7/23: Following on from the teaser images shared just last week, New Balance has revealed a new look at its latest collaboration with Stone Island. The previously disguised silhouette has been revealed to be a brand-new model, the FuelCell C_1, which sits on a stacked-up midsole and is designed with running in mind. Building on both brand's technical prowess, the shoe manages to strike a balance between breathability and durability thanks to a combination of ripstop and woven material across the upper, while a carbon fibre shank helps to keep the pair lightweight yet stable underfoot. Stone Island's logo also sits in pride of place on the rear clip, the 3D compass logo adding a touch of detail to the chunky looking heel.

As it stands, the shoe is rumoured to release on the 28th of July, so if you're feeling this new collab then be sure to hit the release reminders below for your best shot at securing your size.

Original Article: Having originally joined forces in 2021, Stone Island and New Balance have maintained a steady stream of collaborative products over the past couple of years - though often to a mixed response. Now, hot off the back of its recent football-themed capsule, the duo has teased yet another link-up, though the model in question is being kept (quite literally) under wraps.

Taking to Instagram to post a teaser, Stone Island dropped a trio of photos that showed a barely-recognisable New Balance silhouette draped in fabric. The fabric, presumably, dictates the colourways, while the shape of the shoe behind hints at the release being a New Balance FuelCell.

With Stone Island’s fanbase spanning such a wealth of subcultures, it's hard to predict what route its collabs will take next. Take the previous collaborative RC Elite, for example, which tapped into the brand’s penchant for technical products, and compare it to the hype that surrounded the collaborative 574 - a paired-back model that appealed to the casual crowd.
