Thought three Union x Nike Cortez collabs was enough? You thought wrong. Nike have teamed up with the LA-based boutique once again for another take on the classic Cortez sneaker, which just so happens to be celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Arriving in a summer-ready colourway, the Union LA x Nike Cortez "White Yellow" has surfaced on social media, so here’s what to expect from the pair.
Coming constructed from rugged canvas, cork and suede, the “White Yellow” Union Cortez follows the same makeup as the previous colourways. However, the colour palette arrives in much brighter tones, with a yellow, purple and pink striped canvas panel dressing the shoe’s sidewalls. The sunset-inspired shades compliment the Union Cortez’s muted suede overlays, which come in an off-white suede to let the details do the talking.
Of course, this would be no collab colourway if it wasn’t for both Union and Nike’s key branding hits. The Union x Nike Cortez “White Yellow” isn’t exactly short on these, with the most prominent example being the bold yellow Nike Swoosh which sweeps across the side of the shoe. Other details can be found at the forefoot, which boasts a yellow UN/LA tag, and the double-layered heel tab, which sports Union’s Frontman logo. Finally, co-branded cork insoles sit underfoot, just above the Crater Foam midsoles – a running feature throughout the collab’s colourways.
There’s currently no talk of when the “White Yellow” Union LA x Nike Cortez might drop, but we’d expect to see it launch alongside the other colourways later this year. Until then, be sure to keep it locked, and download our app to stay up to date with all the latest sneaker news and releases.
