Article updated 27/10/23: After we were treated to leaks of a white and blue rendition earlier in the month, it seems Supreme x Nike are set to release yet more takes on the upcoming Air Darwin. While there are said to be a total of four Air Darwin colourways, this latest black rendition just might take the cake.
Previewed by @YankeeKicks on Instagram, this latest Supreme x Nike SB Air Darwin flaunts a stealthy black exterior complete with contrasting white Nike Swooshes on the lateral walls and toe box. In addition, a Supreme x Nike SB hang tag hangs from each pair.
Given the fact some of the Supreme x Nike collaborations in the past few years have been perceived as lacklustre by some fans, we're guessing this one will likely pique the interest of many. Keep it locked in right here as the story evolves, and keep reading for the original article below.
Original article: After a surprisingly overwhelming reception to the Rammellzee-Themed Supreme x Nike SB Dunks in September, Supreme and the Swoosh brand are seemingly back at it already. Leaked images are now suggesting the duo will be gearing up for a collaborative take on the Air Darwin Low, a silhouette that has remained firmly under the radar for some years.
Designed by Tinker Hatfield, the Air Darwin was first worn on the courts by the likes of Denis Rodman in 1994. Despite many people attributing the whole backwards Swoosh motif to Travis Scott's Nike back catalogue, it was actually the Air Darwin that did it first back then.
Now, this '90s basketball icon is receiving somewhat of a skate-themed reissue as Supreme offers its own take on the Low version of the silhouette. Almost reminiscent of the Air Jordan 11, the Air Darwin Low sports comparable woven lace eyelets arriving in a light blue hue. This same tint extends to the backwards Swoosh at the rear and co-signed signature atop the tongue.
The robust outsole and collar of the shoe arrive decorated in a deep black colour, perfectly contrasting the white canvas found on the shoe's uppers. According to leaker @masterchefian, this shoe is limited to a total of 6500 pairs worldwide. So far, no release date has been made available for the Supreme x Nike Air Darwin Low, so be sure to keep it locked in right here for all the latest.
Up next, JJJJound's New Balance 2002R isn't groundbreaking, but it is undeniably clean.
