After being announced as Creative Director of New Balance’s Made in USA line back in 2021, the sneaker world patiently awaited Aimé Leon Dore founder Teddy Santis’ interpretation of the Boston brand’s key sneaker styles. Although it took over a year for the first pairs to drop, Santis proved that they were worth the wait, with each pair somehow managing to look better than the last. Having chosen to focus on NB’s 990 silhouette, Santis explored both neutral and colourful palettes across three generations of 990 styles, creating new classics that still managed to align with New Balance’s retro look and feel.
Now, two new pairs are set to join Santis’ line-up. The New Balance 990v3 Made in USA and the 990v2 “Navy/Castlerock” see Teddy once again tone down the colour palette, opting for a super-clean navy, blue and grey make-up. Both pairs feature a similar colour-blocking too – the navy overlays wrap their way around the light blue mesh panels, while grey accents allow for New Balance’s signature shade to peek through.
The "Castlerock/Navy" NB 990v3 and 990v2 come constructed from mesh and suede, and feature neutral accents of white and cream on the laces and liners, branding hits and sole units. The combination results in two luxe-looking, extremely wearable colourways that both deserve a spot in any sneakerhead’s rotation. Both styles are set to drop later this month, so be sure to hit the release reminders for your best chance of copping!
