The A Bathing Ape BAPESTA "Outdoors" Collection Showcases a Familiar Colour Palette

Japanese streetwear label A Bathing Ape (or commonly referred to as BAPE) has been killing the footwear game for many years now, and it seems that it’s ready to unleash a brand-new capsule as images of the “Outdoors Pack” have just been unveiled. While the BAPESTA silhouette is undoubtedly inspired by the classic Nike AF1, it seems that Nigo’s label has once again turned to the Swoosh brand for inspiration, as this pack bears a noticeable resemblance to Nike’s well-loved ACG line.

Also dedicated to the outdoors, ACG’s signature colour palette has become instantly-recognisable over the years, meaning that this tongue-in-cheek tribute from BAPE feels instantly familiar. Two colourways of the BAPESTA are decked out in vibrant hues, with the first showcasing teal, yellow, grey and brown, and the second showing off hits of black, purple, pink and grey.

Star logos are stitched onto both the lateral and medial sides of each sneaker, with rope-style laces keeping them securely on feet and Ape Head logos embossed onto the heels. Finally, each pair is finished off with a speckled sole, another iconic ACG feature. Considering the current outdoor wear trend, these are seemingly bang-on-trend, once again showing off BAPE’s ability to tap into current styles.
