Errolson Hugh and the Acronym brand are no strangers to collaborating with Nike, in fact the duo have teamed up several times before to bring to life variations of the Presto, Air Force 1 and even the Air VaporMax. Hugh took to Instagram yesterday to share never-before-seen images of what is being referred to as the Acronym x Nike Blunk, a bizarre-looking Blazer and Dunk fusion that never made its way onto the mass market.
In the caption, Errolson Hugh states that the sneakers are 1 of 1, implying that they were a sample that never made it through to the production stage. Regardless of this, they’re definitely one of the stranger-looking Nike collaborations we’ve ever seen, so we have to give it to the Acronym team for their creativity!
The pair are decked out in a fully blacked-out look, leaving all the focus to the silhouette rather than the colourway. They appear to be crafted from premium leather throughout and showcase classic Dunk panelling, although with a few changes, for example the toe-box is left untouched rather than perforated. Nike Swoosh logos are placed on either side, while the unmistakable Acronym logo is featured on the tongue tabs.
The look is completed with a rough-and-ready Blazer midsole, which totally transforms the look of the otherwise standard Dunks. If you’re liking the look of the Acronym x Nike Blunk, then unfortunately it doesn’t look like you’ll get your hands on a pair anytime soon, as they’re seemingly set to remain as samples. Make sure to keep it locked in right here at The Sole Supplier for all the latest and while you’re here, check out the upcoming FPAR x Nike SB Blazer!
