Few shoes in Jordan history are as well known, or as sought-after as the black and red Air Jordan 1. Affectionately referred to as the "Bred" or "Banned" by fans, Michael Jordan was rumoured to have been fined on numerous occasions for wearing the legendary colourway as it broke the NBA’s uniform rules. Therefore, the infamous shoe has managed to cement itself in sneaker history, and "Bred" re-releases are always one of the most popular Jordan releases going. For this iteration, the Jordan 1 High gets polished up in patent leather, to become the Air Jordan 1 High OG "Bred Patent," and is being released in adult and kids’ sizes to fit the fam. They're set to drop very soon, so let's take a closer look at the pair.
Done up in the "Breds" usual black and red colour scheme, the "Patent Bred" AJ1 High sees the sneaker reimagined with patent panels. Red accenting appears on the perforated toe box, Nike Swoosh, heel and collar, whilst the rest of the upper is decked out in black.
The MJ branding follows the cues from the colour scheme, with the Jordan Wings insignia stamped in black against the red ankle collar, and red Nike Air branding sitting at the top of the tongue. The word "family" is embroidered in red on the inside of the shoe.
Underfoot, a crisp white midsole is dipped into a bright red outsole to round off the "Patent Bred" Jordan 1 colourway.
The "Bred Patent" Air Jordan 1 High OG is set to drop in family sizes on December 30th, so be sure to head over to Nike and turn those notifications on to make sure you don't miss the drop.
Next, the Air Jordan 1 Mid "Diamond" is releasing in toddler sizes.
