As the worlds of sneakers and high fashion continue to blur, it’s no surprise that Fashion Week has become the hottest place for brands to debut their collabs. Just yesterday, New Balance previewed its next collaboration with Miu Miu, but fans of the Boston-based brand will remember the Auralee 1906R that was previewed during the February fashion month circuit. And if, like us, you’ve been waiting for those, you’ll be pleased to know that they’ll be dropping soon.
Featuring a jumbo mesh base and nubuck and suede overlays, the Auralee x New Balance 1906R shows the silhouette at its very best. Arriving in a similar washed-out fashion as NB’s Miu Miu 574s, the shoes come saturated in beige and blue hues, with each piece of the construction taking to the dye differently. As expected, this all sits atop the model’s signature cushioned midsole, making this collaboration the perfect blend of function and form.
Meaning “The Land that Lights Up,” Tokyo-based clothing label Auralee started in 2015 and places its emphasis on personal style and high-quality materials - something that lends itself well to New Balance. Over the past couple of years, the duo has become well-versed in adding elevated touches to NB’s staple sneakers, with previous pairs including the 550, 2002R and RC30s, as well as a Warped Runner colourway that hit the runway over the summer. Though the latter is still yet to be released, the 550 and 2002Rs sell for around £300 on the secondary market - an issue that tends to happen when it comes to regional exclusives.
This time though, NB fans are in with a much better chance of copping, as pairs are tipped to land globally on the 11th of October. Resellers need not panic though, as we’re still expecting these to be a popular pair, especially judging from the hype surrounding the GANNI collaboration. If you’re looking to get your hands on them then be sure to hit the ‘Notify me’ button below, and in the meantime take a peek at the upcoming JJJJound 2002R.
