While the recently-revived New Balance 2002R continues to be blessed with a stream of colourways that have been making waves in the sneaker community, both dedicated New Balance and BAPE collectors have been keeping their eye out on the highly coveted BAPE x New Balance 2002R "Green Camo" and "Grey Camo" ever since it was teased early this year. Well, the wait is finally over as a release date has finally been confirmed by the Japanese streetwear staple.
If you've been keeping up with the latest news here at The Sole Supplier, you'd know that the New Balance 2002R has been receiving a lot of attention for some time now. After serving as a blank canvas for South Korean streetwear brand thisisneverthat, the pair paid a visit to Japan's fashion capital where Nigo's legendary label, A Bathing Ape, is situated.
Both renditions are crafted with the finest materials any sneaker has ever seen, accomodating tumbled leather panels, deluxe suede, and synthetic textiles throughout. The uppers are outfitted in BAPE's iconic ABC camouflage graphics, one in a "Green Camo" colourway and the other in "Snow Grey Camo", together boasting additional brand motifs: reflective 3M shark teeth graphics on the heel and a shooting star logo. The setup is concluded with the Boston footwear label's sidewall N logos, and a dual-midsole concealing New Balance's in-house cushioning technologies, ABZORB and N-ergy.
The ensemble is scheduled for a release on June 5th and is set to be accompanied by a range of clothing and accessories. Let us know if you're copping anything from the BAPE x New Balance 2002R collection and keep it locked in right here for more high-heat New Balance releases like this one. In other news, the Bodega x New Balance 990v3 "Brown Beige" celebrates the retailer's 15-year anniversary.
