Over the years Nike has gifted plenty of PE (that’s player exclusive) sneakers to plenty of sportspeople and other relevant figures, with a select few of these eventually making their way onto the resell market. Perhaps the most limited of all these PE sneakers is the Barack Obama Hyperdunks, a pair that were gifted to the 44th President of the United States, a keen basketball fan.
While one pair was seeded to Obama himself, a second pair was also produced which has now made its way into the possession of famed auction house Sotheby’s who will be auctioning off the pair later this week.
The Hyperdunks are decked out in a regal colorway, with the white base layer accentuated with grey and deep blue hits. Nike’s signature Swoosh logo adorns both the lateral and medial sides, while dedicated presidential logos are located at each tongue. Additional details come in the form of the number 44 embroidered on each sneaker along with soft white mesh overlays for added comfort.
The Barack Obama Hyperdunk will be available to purchase directly from Sotheby’s from the 12th February, so if you’ve got deep pockets and want to get your hands on some rare air then this is a truly once in a lifetime opportunity! Make sure to keep it locked in right here at The Sole Supplier for all the latest news and updates and while you’re here check out this pair of unworn and autographed Air Jordan 1s from 1985!
