The Best Supreme Collaborations Throughout the Years

After opening in an old office space on Lafayette Street, New York, not many would ever imagine the global force that streetwear imprint Supreme would grow to become. With a natural aurora of timeless cool, Supreme, over the years, has produced some downright timeless and memorable pieces. Many of these items have come as part of Supreme's ongoing collaborative efforts, an endeavour any fan of the brand will know all about.

With a deep back catalogue spanning close to 30 years, Supreme has collaborated with the who's who of the fashion, lifestyle and almost every other industry we can think of, producing some downright iconic collaborations in the past. Here at The Sole Supplier, it goes without saying we're massive fans of Supreme, so we've decided to recount our favourites when it comes to some of the brand's most awe-inspiring collaborations. Where would our list be without arguably Supreme's most high-profile collaboration? In 2017, Supreme shocked the world as it announced an expansive collection with none other than French luxury fashion house Louis Vuitton.

Spanning close to 50 items, the collection featured everything from wardrobe essentials such as jackets, hoodies and tees all the way to luxury homeware items including pyjamas, blankets, pillows and much more. The majority of the pieces came dressed in Louis Vuitton's signature monogram print, with the signature Supreme red hue used aplenty also.

The collection even included a Louis Vuitton Malle Courier 90 Trunk. Only three of these pieces are known to exist, and they were offered exclusively to Louis Vuitton's most loyal customers. One even sold back in 2017 at Christie's Auction House for a whopping $125,000 (£92,256), making it the highest-selling piece of Supreme of all time. Near five years on, and each of these pieces commands astronomically high resale prices, both on marketplaces and auction sites. It remains to be seen if the duo will ever collaborate again, but we can surely guarantee it would send the fashion world into meltdown for a second time.

Just when loyal fans of the brand were starting to doubt the quality of Supreme's 2022 offerings, the brand went and pulled out one of its most surprising collaborations to date. In March of 2022, Supreme joined forces with enigmatic British high-fashion label Burberry for a collection of both clothing and accessories.

Included within the selection, we saw everything from shearling-collared puffer jackets to box logos tees and hoodies and even matching joggers sets, most of which arrived dressed in Burberry's iconic Nova Check print. With the regular hints of beige backed up by pastel blue and pink hues, this stylish selection offered a contemporary refresh of some of the British brand's most iconic silhouettes.

Alongside the clothing, we also saw several accessories, including bucket hats, 6-panel caps and skateboard decks, each dressed in (you guessed it) that iconic tartan pattern.

Eight years on from Supreme's inception and we saw the brand collaborate with none other than sportswear giant Nike. To proceed the launch of Nike's latest skateboarding sub-brand Nike SB, the Beavertown brand teamed up with Supreme to produce a collaborative version of its new SB Dunk silhouette.

This latest addition arrived with "White Cement" and "Black Cement" colourways, with each pair limited to a measly 500 pairs. Each silhouette sported upper layers wrapped in Nike's signature elephant print, strikingly similar to an Air Jordan 3 colourway that came not long before. Additionally, the white sported blue accents while its black counterpart showcased a deep red in contrast.

As it stands, both models are near impossible to cop unless you're willing to spend big bucks. Both the black and white are currently commanding over £5000 as their lowest ask prices on sites such as StockX, making them one of the most sought after Nike SB collaborations of all time.

What do you get when you combine one of the world's most famous guitar models with one of the biggest streetwear brands ever? One hell of a collector's piece appears to be the answer. In 2017, Supreme and legendary music manufacturer Fender linked up to produce a selection of limited Stratocasters, ideal for any musically adept hypebeast.

The guitar itself took on the form of the brand's iconic Stratocaster shape and came dressed in a white hue, only contrasted by Supreme's famed red box logo on the body. The guitar also arrived with a custom case, straps and picks.

While most of these guitars will never likely get played, you can't help but think how much of a great living room showpiece they are, and for that reason, this is truly a collaboration that appeals to us all.

Now while we could easily just talk about the recent addition to this partnership, it would be rude of us to ignore the complete back catalogue of Supreme and Stone Island's relationship. Until their first link-up in 2014, Stone Island was to many (and still is) a brand worn inherently by football casuals and ultras, but this initial collaboration helped the brand establish its place within the streetwear community.

Since their first link-up, we've now been treated to a total of seven different collaborations, with each bearing a range of fresh designs and silhouettes. Standout pieces from the bunch include SS16's heat reactive trench coats, FW17's floral Stampato puffer jacket and of course the SS22 reversible faux fur parka.

With a solidified and established relationship, Supreme could replicate the same yearly success it's seen with the likes of The North Face with Stone Island moving forward, which for many remains nothing short of an exciting prospect.

Speaking of The North Face, it's only fair to include the iconic relationship shared between the two brands on this list. Dating all the way back to FW07, Supreme x The North Face have produced an extensive selection of goods with drops arriving almost every year (or more than once a year) since.

With the number of collaborations now into its twenties, Supreme x The North face have offered an extensive selection of outerwear over the years and don't seem to have any plans of stopping soon. Some of our favourites include FW15's "By Any Means Necessary" Nupste jacket, FW19's Statue of Liberty Mountain Jacket and SS14's globe map print jacket.

Considering both Supreme and The North Face are labels under VF Corporation, we can't see these collaborative efforts drying up any time soon, and we're certainly excited for the next one.
