The CLOT x Air Jordan 5 Low SP "Jade" has got to be one of Edison Chen and Kevin Poon's best Swoosh collaborations. While we first caught a glimpse of these back in December, they've now been officially unveiled in all their glory. Arriving just weeks after the coveted Dunk High "Flux", here's everything that you need to know!
CLOT have remastered several Jumpman silos in the past. From the Air Jordan 1 all the way to the Air Jordan 35, each one references elements of the East and the West, and bonds them together in harmony. Their take on the Air Jordan 5 is certainly no different. Inspired by jade, this precious green mineral has played a huge role in Chinese history and culture for centuries. With a sleek satin black construction contrasted against seductive red interiors, co-branded detailing is finely embroidered around the heels in a crisp white, while the Chinese characters for "23" also make an appearance as a nod to Michael Jordan's signature jersey number.
As mentioned before, jade-inspired details can be found throughout the model. From the green rings along the lacing system to the Nike Air midsole underfoot, the latter actually glows in the dark. This all comes packed within a special edition shoebox that's definitely one for the collectors out there.
The CLOT x Jade 5 Low will release alongside a complementary apparel collection on May 14th via JUICE locations. There will also be a special pop-up held in Tai Kwun, Chengdu, and Guangzhou, which will feature a number of workshops and additional accessories. If you don't live near any of these spots, a global release is expected on May 20th, so make sure you smash those "Notify me" buttons to cop! While you're here, here's a sneak peek at the Upcoming Air Jordan 5 Low "PSG"!
