Converse x COMME des GARÇONS is back again, only this time the instantly recognisable heart-eye decoration dresses the Converse One Star for the first time ever. The sneaker, which is loved equally by skaters and sneakerheads across the globe, offers up a retro silhouette that is a slight step away from the grunge scene that it's known for, and adds a little luxury that is more in line with what CDG collaborations usually embody.
The 1970s silhouette, first seen the year before in 1969, was originally named the Leather All Star. It was only in 1993 that the One Star we know and love hit the shelves, equipped with its sturdy materials and Ortholite sole. A staple in rotations around the world, it's no surprise that the Converse One Star has been given the CDG stamp of approval. It will join the Chuck 70 in Converse's collaborative hall of fame.
Having been remixed by the likes of Tyler, The Creator & GOLF le FLEUR*, Carhartt WIP, DSM, NEIGHBOURHOOD and more, it was only a matter of time before the One Star took the weight of the CDG Play insignia on its shoulders.
