Sneaker collaborations drop almost daily, but few carry the warmth and charm of the Joe Freshgoods x New Balance 992 ‘Aged Well.’ This pair stands in a league of its own. And the kicker? You can’t even snag them yet. Stay thirsty, sneakerheads!
Earlier this month, sneakerheads spotted a mysterious eBay listing that claimed to showcase Joe Freshgoods' latest design. The unfamiliar colourway had everyone guessing. But just as quickly as it popped up, the listing disappeared like a ghosted DM. Cue Joe Freshgoods himself, jumping on Instagram to officially drop the mic (and the shoe).
Crafted atop a breathable mesh base, the 992 features overlays of pigskin suede and premium leather in soft ‘Rose Smoke’ and ‘Misty Rose’ hues. But Freshgoods didn’t stop at just creating a beautiful colour palette. He went the extra mile (or ten) by applying a pre aged finish to the entire sneaker, giving it the fitting nickname, ‘Aged Well.’
Signature details abound. Oversized “N” logos adorn the lateral and medial sidewalls, while “JFG”, short for Joe Freshgoods, is embroidered on the heel. The design is supported by a chunky ABZORB foam midsole paired with NDurance rubber, ensuring both comfort and grip.
Joe Freshgoods, born Joseph Robinson, is a designer and creative director known for blending nostalgia with bold, graphic streetwear through his label, Don’t Be Mad. This latest sneaker aligns perfectly with his creative ethos.
Since partnering with New Balance in 2020, Freshgoods has delivered some of the most sought after sneakers, including the Hype Williams inspired 990v4 collection, solidifying the collaboration as one to celebrate.
The Joe Freshgoods x New Balance 992 ‘Aged Well’ is expected to release next month, priced at £220. It will be available on Joe Freshgoods’ website, New Balance, and select retailers worldwide. But, as with all JFG collaborations, anticipate resale prices to soar likely doubling or tripling the retail price.
