Joe Freshgoods x New Balance 990v4 White Black

Chicago-born creative director Joe Freshgoods revisits the late ‘90s hip-hop in his latest New Balance collaboration dubbed “1998”. Featuring a trifecta of New Balance 990v4 iterations, the concept revolves around significant scenes from Hype Williams’ crime-drama thriller Belly, the legendary music video director’s only feature film. Also known as the “Intro” colourway, the Joe Freshgoods New Balance 990v4 “White Black” emits urban flair with a contrasting colour scheme, juxtaposing its “Outro” counterpart.

The “1998” collection includes premium streetwear apparel inspired by the June 1999 issue of the XXL Magazine to coincide with the release. This NB 990v4 colourway boasts a stealthy black open mesh underlay, reinforced with light grey suede overlays and white patent leather panels on the forefoot and collar. Blacked-out “N” logos on the sides stand out atop the white suede backdrop, while the Made in the USA flag emblem and embroidered 990v4 branding adorn the mesh tongue. The synthetic heel panel features various brand labels, including a “1998” on the topmost area, a Made in the USA branding, and classic NB logos. The streamlined ENCAP foam midsole boasts a pre-aged look with its cream white tone, complementing the base. Co-branded JFG and NB labels appear on the red sockliners. The durable rubber treads complete this premium Joe Freshgoods New Balance 990v4 colourway.
