After we heard of Travis Scott’s brand-new collaboration with Dior this morning it seems that the internet has gone into collab-mania, with the unveiling of the Louis Vuitton Nike Air Force 1 - this is NOT a drill! While bootlegs similar to these have been made for years now, it seems that the luxury house is finally teaming up with the Swoosh brand, as the sneakers were unveiled as part of the label’s SS22 collection today.
As Louis Vuitton is headed up by none other than Virgil Abloh, who’s Nike work with Off-White is hugely successful, this collaboration doesn’t come as too much of a surprise. Luxury brands teaming up with streetwear labels is nothing new now, in previous years we’ve seen partnerships such as Supreme x LV and Dior x KAWS, with both garnering enormous media attention.
The sneakers themselves in question are kept relatively classic, with bold colour-blocking taking over the uppers and panels showcasing Louis Vuitton’s classic monogram print. The pairs appear visually similar to the Off-White AF1’s, with “AIR” printed on the midsoles and “LACES” on the lace tips, another one of Abloh’s signature touches. What’s even more exciting is that similar to Off-White’s recently-unveiled “Dear Summer” collection, 21 different colourways are set to launch!
While we don’t know too much else about the upcoming Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 collection, we can expect an official press release to launch soon containing further details. For the time being, keep it locked in right here at The Sole Supplier for all the latest and while you’re here, make sure to check out these crazy McDonalds-inspired Nike’s!
