As the line continues to blur between high fashion and sneakers, we're now taking our first look yet at the upcoming Maison Margiela x Reebok Classic Leather Tabi. First teased by Kim K last week, while it's certainly not the first time that the power duo have worked together, previously taking on the Instapump Fury back in January 2020, this collaboration is definitely a lot more wearable than the first, and with that we can say that we're pretty hyped for this!
Taking inspiration from traditional jika tabi shoes that were invented in early 20th century Japan, Maison Margiela's take on the Classic Leather features a pre-aged "Bianchetto" grey leather upper that slowly but surely wears away with weathered black hues making a prominent appearance as well. Co-branded detailing hits the tongue, while the Parisian house's signature number chart can also be found throughout.
Of course, we can't talk about this upcoming Reebok collaboration without mentioning the unique split toe design upfront. While other brands such as Nike have dropped similar pairs recently including the ISPA Road Warrior, this is probably the most minimalist take on the traditional footwear silhouette yet.
With a release set for January 30th, let us know if you'd cop the Maison Margiela x Reebok Classic Leather Tabi, and in related news, the BAPE x Reebok Club C showcases the iconic star logo!
