Founded in 1906 by two brothers who shared a love for western-sports culture, Mizuno was created in Osaka, Japan, and has since grown into one of the largest names in the sporting footwear industry. Now becoming a force to be reckoned with in the lifestyle sector too, the brand has just unveiled its latest flagship silhouette, titled the Waver Rider Beta. Drawing inspiration from the past, present and future, the model borrows its sole unit from the Wave Rider 26, Mizuno’s best-selling running sneaker. The upper is modelled on multiple Wave Rider silhouettes from over the years, showcasing elements that have helped shape the identity of the line ever since its inception in 1997.
Crafted from premium suede and athletic mesh, the sneakers bear the brand’s signature RunBird logo on both the lateral and medial sides, with wordmark logos also present on the tongues. Launching in two neat colourways, “Bistro Green” and “Insignia Blue”, the kicks will be available via UK retailers from the 24th March, at the price of £150.
