Earlier this year we got our very first look at the Casablanca x New Balance XC-72. Unveiled as part of the Parisian label's Fall/Winter 2021 lookbook, the shoe was heavily inspired by retro runners of the past but with an ultra contemporary twist. While we still have to wait a little while for this coveted collaboration to drop, it looks like Boston-based footwear brand is ready to debut its first GR colourway with the New Balance XC-72 "Bone"!
Designed by Charlotte Lee, who unsurprisingly led the creation of the world-renowned 237 and 327, the "Bone" is a multicoloured mismatched masterpiece. Working on top of a crisp cream nylon base, suede panels dipped in various colours make their way throughout the upper. A gum rubber heel counter wraps around the back like tyre tread, while a gigantic "N" shoots across the sidewalls for that classic look that we all know and love.
Of course, you can't talk about this brand new New Balance silhouette without mentioning the one-of-a-kind midsole underfoot. One of the most unique units we've seen in the game, the inner side is done up with perfectly proportioned circles while the outer side boasts a tread pattern that seems pretty random.
Set to make its grand entrance on August 6th, the New Balance XC-72 "Multi" is a definite must-have! Let us know if you'll be going for these this week, and in related news, the Levi's x New Balance 992 is decked out in premium denim!
