First launched back in 1986, before the AM1 had even officially debuted, the Nike Air Max 1 OG “Big Window” is a legendary pair amongst Air Max enthusiasts. It was created in extremely limited numbers by Tinker Hatfield’s design team and showcased a larger bubble than the final production pair, giving it a unique shape that some sneakerheads regard as the best shape ever to have graced the AM1. The pair donned the classic “University Red” colourway that also made it to the final 1987 version.
Rumour has it that a faithful recreation of this grail-status pair is set to launch in 2023, meaning this is the first time that many collectors will be able to get their hands on this version of the AM1. While we don’t have more details just yet, we’ll be sure to share more as soon as we have them, so keep it locked in right here for all the latest updates in the sneaker world!
