Set to drop just days before Halloween on October 21 2025, the Nike Air Max 95 “Houseflies” is Nike’s bold entry for this year's horror‑themed 110. Rather than totally transforming the shoe and going going all-out, this edition opts for a more subdued take, balancing black leather-meets-insect motif with a little bit of OG Neon thrown into the mix.
This Big Bubble retro runner features black leather uppers as the base canvas. Across those panels, white vinyl‑style fly graphics crawl and scatter, creating a visual tension that feels unsettling rather than festive. Neon yellow visible Air units pop against the darkness, and the insole carries the fly motif in matching neon tones.
Nike doesn’t stop there. The tongue’s AIR MAX logo is overlaid with a cobweb embroidery, driving home the haunted aesthetic. Beneath the MAX section lies a subtle web detail, an accent which usually adopts the strongest hue of that particular colourway. On the outsole, the midfoot shank which is typically covered in the AM95's PSI measurements, gives way to more fly graphics along the mid‑spine. While most sneakerheads will never spot this detail, it's an apprecciated touch among those who know.
One of the standout tweaks is the Jewel Swoosh, rendered here in a familiar shade of Neon green. It signals that Nike sees this pair as more than a seasonal gimmick, perhaps even a consollation prize for those still holding onto any bitter "OG Neon"-related Ls or a happy alternative to the Japanese-exclusive Harajuku 110. The tooling remains faithful to the 95 lineage, pairing that classic stance with the exaggerated bubble build that’s so prevalent in 2025’s AM95 drops.
Halloween-themed Air Max 95s have ranged from unforgettable to forgettable. The 2014 Mummy remains a standout moment in the silhouette’s history, daring to be weird in all the right ways. Then came the Freddy Krueger-inspired 95s in 2020, which serious collectors snapped up instantly.
The Houseflies edition feels a little more restrained, but not underwhelming. It strikes a rare balance between thematic storytelling and everyday wearability. It may not push the envelope as far as past horror tributes, but it doesn’t need to. There’s a quiet menace to the design, and that might be enough to secure its place in the Halloween sneaker canon.
The Air Max 95 “Houseflies” isn’t groundbreaking in concept, Halloween launches are hardly new, but with its layered fly graphics, cobweb detailing, neon contrast and jewel accent, it offers a solid, distinctive spin. It won’t rewrite the rules of sneaker storytelling, but as a seasonal entry, it’s striking enough to earn respect and a place in collectors’ rotation.
