As part of the silhouette’s 30th-anniversary celebration, Nike looks set to bring back a fan-favourite Air Max 95 colourway with a bold twist. According to several sources, the iconic Nike Air Max 95 "Neon" will make a return in the summer of 2025, with the original big bubble design that sneaker enthusiasts have long revered.
Although official imagery is yet to be released, mockups and leaked details suggest the Air Max 95 Big Bubble "Neon" will stay true to the OG release, featuring the iconic neon green accents that pop against the sleek, gradient grey upper. If you weren’t already familiar with the classic “Neon” look, it was actually the original colourway for the shoe and has since become synonymous with the AM95. This distinctive colourway, alongside the shoe’s anatomical design influences, helped the Air Max 95 stand out and cut through the noise. Now, 30 years later, we’re glad to see the shoe return in all its glory, complete with the OG “big bubble”.
While many of us are happy to see this classic sneaker return, there have recently been some criticisms raised by sneakerheads agaist the Swoosh brand due to the increasing number of retro releases. Some Nike fans have admitted a growing weariness of remakes and long for original, never-before-seen designs instead of reissues of classic models. This year, we've already witnessed remakes of numerous classics, such as the Nike Air 180 Ultramarine, as well as rumoured re-releases of historic drops, such as the UNDEFEATED x Air Jordan 4 Olive Black, which have caused some dissatisfaction amongst sneakerhead purists.
Nevertheless, demand for the Air Max 95 "Big Bubble" remains high, with expectations amongst sneakerheads even higher. While the current crop of AM95’s retail for £175, don’t be surprised if you see these hit the shelves for as much as £190. Similar to the Air Max 1 “Big Bubble” from 2023, this 110 version will likely be available from Nike and other tier 1 retailers in-store and online. If history is any indication, they are likely to sell out quickly, so mark your calendars and make sure to hit the 'Notify Me' button above to get instant alerts on news surrounding this release.
If you're reading this and thinking that 2025 feels like a long way away, don't worry! Nike have you covered with even more Air Max 95 releases before then which are set to be dropping over the coming weeks. Alongside a restock of the AM95 "Baltic Blue" we saw drop at Nike this morning, we are also expected to see the launch of the Air Max 95 'Vapour Green' after months of teased images.
