While Nike is now one of, if not the biggest brand in the world, back in it’s early days it was a label focused entirely on making the best track running shoes ever. Founded by Phil Knight and Bill Bowerman (both avid athletes) and originally called Blue Ribbon Sports, the sneakers were hand-crafted for the track and worn exclusively by athletes. Now, to pay homage to this legendary period in time, the brand has just unveiled the Nike Air Max 95 “Running Club”.
By using vintage branding combined with specific materials and colours that are defiant of the early years of Nike, this pair screams retro from heel to toe and will make a valid addition to the collection of any sneakerhead, especially one that’s interested in the heritage of the Swoosh.
The pair are crafted from a multitude of fabrics including traditional suede, hairy suede and vintage canvas. They’re decked out in hits of blue, red and green, while vintage white is used on the tongue to match the design of old-school pairs. Classic orange Nike branding takes pride of place on the tongues, along with embroidery on the heel and mini-Swoosh logos on the rear.
If you’re as excited as we are for this upcoming pair of AM95s then the good news is that a release date is already set. The pair will be arriving at Nike and other select retailers from the 18th November, so make sure to save the date! In the meantime keep it locked in right here at The Sole Supplier for all the latest news and updates regarding this pair and so many more, along with great stories like an official look at the Nike SB Dunk Low “Chlorophyll”!
