The Nike Air Max BW "City Pack" Celebrates the Big Window's 30th Anniversary

This year marks the Air Max BW's 30th anniversary, and to celebrate this massive milestone, we teamed up with Nike to showcase the Nike Air Max BW "Lyon" and the Nike Air Max BW "Rotterdam" as part of the newly announced "City Pack". A silhouette that has played a major role in shaping both cities, The Sole Supplier went on-location alongside Shoez Gallery's Florent Altounian and WOEI's Woei Tjin to take a look at the shoes in question and talk about how the Big Window has inspired them.

The "Lyon" release opts for an ultra understated grey and black colour palette that you can rock with any fit you throw at it. Ballistic mesh can be found on the toebox while premium leather embraces the heel for a perfect concoction of materials. While it may look pretty minimal from the outset, when you take a closer look you'll find all sorts of funky details throughout the shoe. "Lyon" is stamped around the heel, while the insole is inscribed with "With virtue as guide and fortune as companion" - the official motto of the French city.

The "Rotterdam", on the other hand, boasts a hi-vis aesthetic that is sure to turn heads wherever you go. Arriving in a bold green and white colour scheme, this unique look pays homage to the city's flag. Featuring the same versatile materials as the "Lyon", this BW turns up the music with "220 BPM" embossed on the tongue - inspired by the gabber scene that went on to heavily influence London’s grime genre. Both pairs are then finished off with flat laces that are decorated with "1991" and "2021" on the dubraes, finalising the design.
