Nike is the king of retro-ing older sneakers, and now for the first time ever, they're reviving the iconic Nike Air Tuned Max. A silhouette that made its debut over two decades ago back in 1999, it famously inspired the Skepta x Nike Air Max 97 from 2017 complete with the same colour scheme. With that said, the model itself has never seen the light of day since its initial release.
Although the Air Tuned Max isn't strictly an Air Max shoe, sneakerheads continue to lump it into the family. Featuring a breathable black mesh base, iridescent overlays make their way throughout the shoe with "Saturn Red" hues descending upon the toebox and ankle and "Celery" accents featuring around the tongue and back.
Down below, you'll find the legendary Nike TN Air Max sole unit for comfort that continues to outlast the competition even decades later, and the bottom of the shoe is decorated with the signature hexagonal "Tn" logo that we all know and love.
The Beaverton brand has yet to officially confirm the Nike Air Tuned Max's return, but rumour has it that it'll land sometime this summer. Let us know if you'll be adding these retro runners to your rotation, and while you're here, you might as well take your first look at the sacai x Nike VaporWaffle "Off Noir"!
