Ahead of this year’s Tokyo Olympics, Nike has unveiled the new Nike Air VaporMax 2020. One of the iconic brand’s most sustainable designs to date, these low-impact sneakers are made from 75% recycled manufacturing waste, delivering a style that looks good and makes you feel good.
The Flyknit upper on these VaporMax is made from recycled polyester that’s just as breathable, equally as lightweight and still super flexible. The upper also features multi-coloured flecks of threads that are inspired by a bird’s-eye view of piles of waste – to really hammer home the world's pollution problem. FlyEase laceless technology makes them effortless to get on and off and the mudguard on the heel and toe enhances durability.
Originally released as part of Team USA’s “Medal Stand” collection – which boasts select garments which are made entirely from recycled polyester – this sleek VaporMax iteration is nicely rounded off with a convenient pull-tab to the heel and a utility-style heel insert that helps you to create a customised fit.
No release date has been revealed yet for the Nike Air VaporMax 2020 but rumour has it that they’ll drop just before the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, so you’ll be able to rock them while you’re watching your favourite sport.
