Hype behind the Nike Dunk doesn’t seem to be going anywhere soon, so what better news is there on a Friday than hearing about Nike SB’s summer offering of Dunks? That’s right, Nike’s skateboarding division (the sub-label behind some of the biggest Dunk releases of all time) has unveiled a brand-new line-up that consists of 5 new Dunks. Two high-top renditions will accompany 3 low-tops, and there’s plenty of collaborators involved too!
First up, renowned Dutch artist Piet Parra has added his signature touch to the Nike SB Dunk Low, a pair which has been rumoured for several months now. The artist’s iconic bright colour-blocking makes an appearance across the uppers in hits of pink, red, blue and orange, while premium-style dual branding is present throughout the design. We’ve got a feeling these might just be the most in-demand pair on this list!
Next up, Nike teams up with Japanese military science-fiction show Gundam for the first time on a double-pack of Nike SB Dunk Highs. Showcasing a highly-futuristic look, much like the show’s giant robots, both a black and a white variant are set for release. The pairs will feature interchangeable Swoosh logos and dual-branding that borrows logos from the iconic show.
Heading back to lows, San Francisco-based skate retailer FTC joins forces with Nike SB for a low-top Dunk that’s decked out in a mega-clean blue, white and yellow colourway. Luxury leather panels made from leather and suede adorn the uppers giving these a top notch look, while a metallic silver Swoosh logo is located on both the lateral and medial sides. The design is finished off with FTC logos on the heel tabs.
Last but not least, NYC skate pioneers Quartersnacks offer up an SB Dunk Low inspired by a traditional sweet cake, with zebra stripes finishing off the clean monochromatic look. If you’re looking to cop any of the pairs featured in the Nike SB Summer 2021 line-up, then keep it locked in right here at The Sole Supplier, as they’re set to release in the coming months.
