The Nike VaporFly Elite Flyprint 3D Finally Gets A Release Date... But There's A Catch

Since it was first unveiled back in 2018, sneakerheads everywhere have been (im)patiently waiting for the release of the Nike VaporFly Elite Flyprint 3D, and now, we FINALLY have a release date… but there's a catch!

Doused in a shiny purple palette accented by an enlarged Swoosh and Flyprint branding, this running shoe was made with feedback from Eliud Kipchoge, who narrowly missed the sub-two-hour marathon record. Featuring a 3D-printed upper that allows moisture to leave the shoe through evaporation, this also allows for a reduction in weight, resulting in a shoe that weighs a mere eleven grams.

Set to release EXCLUSIVELY via Nike Japan on March 4th in extremely limited quantities via a unique raffle, entrants must be able to prove that they've run a full marathon in less than three hours sometime after March 3rd 2017. Once the demands are met, their name will be printed on the box and then they will finally be able to buy the shoe for just over £500.
