It's official. After months of leaks and rumours, Virgil Abloh has finally unveiled the Off-White x Air Jordan 5 "Black". Showcased during the Italian brand’s Paris Fashion Week runway show, this serves as their latest Jumpman collaboration since the AJ1 "UNC" from June 2018.
Celebrating thirty years of the legendary Nike silhouette, Abloh builds on the iconic "Black Metallic", which is regarded by many as one of the hottest AJ5 colourways ever made. Crafted from a TPE materials, this results in an almost see-through aesthetic that is synonymous to the American fashion designer.
Of course, you can't have an Off-White collab without going all out on deconstructed elements. Not only will you find the usual technical verbiage and quoted text here, the Louis Vuitton Menswear Designer has also implemented circles across the lateral and medial sides that can be cut out for a DIY-inspired vibe.
Down below the Air Jordan 5 you'll find the famed P-51 Mustang-inspired midsole with speckled grey detailing and a yellowed outsole for a pre-worn look, and rounding it off is an all-black hang tag.
While a release date has yet to be officially announced, our sources tell us that the Off-White x Nike Air Jordan 5 "Black" could potentially launch in February to coincide with All-Star Weekend. Let us know if you'll be adding these to your rotation, and in related news, the Off-White x Nike Air Max 90 "University Red" is finally releasing this summer!
