Streetwear fans both young and old will have at least some understanding of the city of Chicago's significance in the culture, from Michael Jordan’s longstanding history with the Bulls to being Virgil Abloh’s hometown. Now, paying homage to the late designer’s legacy, the sports team will join forces with Off-White for a new collaborative collection.
The capsule, which has been spearheaded by Don C, the Abloh family and Off-White CEO Andrea Grilli, acknowledges the importance of the sport as a reference in Abloh’s work, whether that be through his collaborative Nike projects and Jordan releases, to sportswear style garments in his Off-White collections. This posthumous project looks to cement the connection between Off-White and the Windy City, by remixing the team’s logo and referencing the “Off-White Bulls” - details that have landed on the four limited-edition apparel pieces that make up the collection.
Heading up the capsule are two thematic varsity jackets: one in navy blue and black and the other in red and cream. These come patched with various branding hits that celebrate the joint effort, with both Bulls and Off-White logos remaining prominent throughout.
As well as the jackets, the collection also encompasses a hoodie and tee, which again follow the same logo-heavy, varsity-inspired theme. You might think the additions are necessary to bring down the price point, but be warned- a tee will still set you back $1000, while the cheaper varsity sits just under the $4k mark. Nevertheless, if you're a fan, you can cop the collection now over at Off-White.
Up next, Don C has teased a new Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1.
