There’s no denying that basketball styles have officially entered their renaissance era, but so far, few have been able to hold a candle to AVIA. A dominating presence within the golden age of basketball, AVIA’s contribution to the culture was significant, so it makes total sense for the brand to make its comeback while the trend is so en vogue.
While some brands might be pumping out court-style staples for profit, AVIA continues to remain true to its roots, by producing the styles it knows best. Working with its in-house archival database, the brand has managed to update its instantly recognisable heritage designs for the modern age, and when it comes to attention to detail, no stone has been left unturned. Selecting the AVIA 830 and 880 models for a fresh run-out, the release is limited to less than 1000 pairs per style, the small numbers ensuring that the brand can produce them to the highest manufacturing standards possible.
Throwing it back to 1986, the AVIA 830 was always ahead of its time. Worn by the likes of the Detroit Pistol’s John Salley and the Boston Celtics’ Robert Parish, AVIA’s reproduction of the 830 has needed hardly any tweaking. Releasing alongside it, the 880 (also worn by Parish) stays true to its original design and even arrives in a reproduction of its original packaging - providing fans with another chance to get their hands on some basketball history.
Both styles are set to drop alongside a 14-piece clothing capsule, and will land on the 5th of May exclusively at AVIAISBACK.com
Up next, J Balvin's new Jordan is expected to land soon.
